FBA Future Direction

Where to go From Here

Just this evening, I was reviewing us as a people, and I came to the conclusion that what we are going through at this time, 7 October, 2026, we, Foundational Black Americans, are entering a new season. You see, in the Bible, it says that “there’s a time and a season for everything under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and I thought about it. That is so right, so very right. We are entering a new season. We are exiting our “Survival season“. For 400 years we’ve survived this experiment called America but yet we are not ready to enter the “Thriving season“.

What we’ve done – or, more correctly, what we are doing – is we’re entering an intermediary season, called the “Thrival season“. It’s a combination of survival and thriving. We’ve mastered survival in this land. In fact, we’re coming out of survival and we’re going into thriving, but we must learn how to thrive. Therefore, this season of adjustment I’m calling “Thrival“.

A major part of this new Thrival season can be seen in what is happening at this moment. We Foundational Black Americans have renamed ourselves. We are now fully FBA. We are no longer what others call us. We’ve taken the bull by the horns. We’ve taken our own destiny into our own hands, and we have named ourselves, forever and a day. This is who we will be, Foundational Black Americans. This is a spiritual move. It seems the ancestors are talking to us. The Bible says that we’ll be in slavery for 400 years. 1619 was the beginning. 2019 represented that 400th year, when everything started. In 2019 this new age of enlightenment started that year in earnest.

These days are so interesting. After we’ve named ourselves (FBAs), every other black immigrant group – seemingly – has come out of the woodwork to denounce it. They were so accustomed to cosplaying us. Now, we have said in no uncertain terms: “We are delineating“. We are our own separate ethnic group, as we have always been. Except now, we have named ourselves, and we have formally delineated. To put it mildly: that delineation process is kicking their ass. They don’t know what to do.

In truth, our delineating has not harmed them. It was never meant to cause any harm, and it truly has NOT harmed them. They were so accustomed to cosplaying as us, speaking for us, getting into our politics, etc. You see, when it was convenient for them to cozy up to us, they did so. Likewise, when it was convenient for them to separate themselves from us in the eyes of whites, they did that also. What we are telling them is they do no longer have that option – that option no longer exists!

We are our own separate people and, at each step along the process, we will ensure that everyone knows, is apprised of, and kept abreast of the fact that there is a difference between Foundational Black Americans and all black immigrant groups. We wish no one any harm. We simply wish to ensure that the legacy that has been passed to us by our ancestors, that we honor that legacy, and we cannot honor that legacy if we continue to allow other groups to “prostitute” that legacy for their own benefit.
